SUNBURY — Betty Jane Driscoll, 84, of Sunbury, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 27, 1926, in Pittsburg, Pa., to the late Stanley Thomas and Mabel Brown. A Sunbury area resident since 1973, she retired from the J.C. Penny Insurance company. She married her childhood sweetheart, William J. Driscoll, on March 6, 1946. A devoted wife for 59 years, together they shared a wonderful life until William’s passing in 2005.
Survived by daughters, Shelah Otterbacher and Tamara Lyon; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by sons, John and Gary; daughter, Tonja Driscoll; son-in-law, Greg “Pete” Lyon; and sister, Mary Frances Day.
Friends may call two hours prior to the funeral services which will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Burial will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
