COLUMBUS — Matthue W. Palmer, 44, of Columbus, died April 21, 2011, as a result of lung cancer.
Matthue was born in Goldendale, Wash., and lived for a number of years in both Seattle and Las Vegas before eventually settling in the Columbus area. Matthue was a man who loved his family and also loved baseball. Over the past year, Matthue had the opportunity to travel with his family to many different ballparks across the country. He was full of knowledge that some may call useless; he always had the answer to random questions people posed. In addition to his family and sports, Matthue also enjoyed music, particularly The Beatles and Seattle’s own, Nirvana.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Palmer. Matthue always reminded family and friends, “It can’t rain all the time.” He will be missed by his loving wife and best friend, Loriann Palmer; children, Stephen Heffelfinger, Tara Heffelfinger, Bowie Palmer, Austin Heffelfinger and Taylor Hammel; parents, Wayne and Dorothy Palmer; “Mom,” Peggy Stewart; favorite aunt, “Sissy”; father-in-law, Jerry (Janet) Stewart; sister, Robbin (Jerry) Piscitelli; brother, Jake (Chelsea) Palmer; brother-in-law, Travis (Dione) Stewart; sister-in-law, Raejean Poland; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, at 5 p.m. at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., where family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until time of service.
