MOUNT VERNON — Eva L. Neipling, 82, of Mount Vernon, passed away April 28, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born May 17, 1928, in Morehead, Ky., to the late James Callahan and Flora (Blair) Johnson. Eva was retired from Knox Community Hospital as a patient care assistant and a proud volunteer for the Democratic Party.
She is survived by her son, Albert (Patricia) Neipling, and her daughter, Sheri (Dottie Saylor) Neipling, both of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Rubeo of Indianapolis, Ind., Ricky A. Neipling Jr. of Mount Vernon and Eric Chad (Stephanie) Neipling of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Robert Johnson of Moultrie, Ga.; a sister, Ada Gregory of Morehead, Ky.; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Neipling; three sons, Bruce E., Michael F. and Rick A. Neipling; a grandson, Ryan Neipling; four brothers; and three sisters.
Friends may call on Sunday, May 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Rhett Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Amity Cemetery.
