BELLVILLE — Charles E. “Chuck” Dewey, 65, of Bellville, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in his home.

He was born Sept. 6, 1945, in Mansfield to Jack E. and Helen (Detrow) Dewey and at 18, Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving four years during Vietnam and two years in the Naval Reserves. He retired as supervisor of maintenance at the Central Ohio Industrial Park.

Survived by his wife, Carol Dewey of Bellville; his son, Christopher (Karen) Dewey; daughter, Carla (Clint) Olson; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Jackie Bollinger; and sister, Georgette Smith; along with extended family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael Smith.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Patrick Bailey will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Zion Four Corners Cemetery near Butler.
