PLANO, Texas — Joyce B. Berry, 81, a Mount Vernon resident for over 58 years, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011, in Plano, Texas, after living near her daughter for the last year.

She is survived by her son, Douglas (Patricia) Lauer, Danville, Calif.; daughter, Marsha (Daniel) Hyde of Plano, Texas; stepdaughter, Suzanne (Ridgeway) Crouch of Mattapoisett, Mass.; four granddaughters; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and her sister, Corinne Reif.

Joyce was a passionate and dedicated teacher at Mount Vernon High School for 32 years and was a member of the National Education Association, Ohio Education Association and Mount Vernon Education Association. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Town and Country Garden Club and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Berry.

No public service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Knox County, http://www.hospiceofknox.org.
