MOUNT VERNON — Walter A. “Buck” Rine, 50, of West Chestnut Street, Mount Vernon, passed away at his residence Sunday, May 8, 2011.

He was born Jan. 21, 1961, in Fort Knox, Ky., to Walter Rine and Carole (Litzenberg) Sapp. Buck was a 1979 graduate of East Knox High School and previously worked for United Precast Inc. He enjoyed writing poetry and fishing in the Kokosing River and Foundation Park. Buck was a member of the Messiah Church in Mount Vernon.

He is survived by his mother, Carole (Walter) Sapp of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Jeanette (Tosh) Lange of Howard; a son, Jerry (Amanda) Smith of Danville; four grandchildren, Kiersten, Zach, Kelsey and Mala; two brothers, Bob Rine of Seabrook, Texas, and Marty (Julie) Sapp of Lebanon, Ohio; a sister, Vicki (Arnold) McFadden Jr. of Howard; nephews, Michael Sapp and Arnold McFadden III; a niece, Jessica McFadden; and close friends, Chris, Ron, Pam, Connie and Marti.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Austin Rine, in 1998.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Walter A. “Buck” Rine.
