BRINKHAVEN — Wilma Zimmerman, 95, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the Knox Community Hospital.

She was born June 6, 1915, in Cavallo to Sara E. (Hunt) and Charles Thatcher. On Sept. 16, 1933, she was married to Elsworth P. Zimmerman. She was a member of the Ohio Eastern Star Chapter 303, was a cook in the Danville school for 14 years, and was postmaster of the Brinkhaven Post Office for over 20 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Norma Jean (Richard) Laughrey of Brinkhaven and Elizabeth Jane Loney of Howard; a brother; Charles Jack Thatcher of Brinkhaven; a sister; Helen Crill of Butler; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Stephen Paul Zimmerman.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville. There will be no calling hours.
