MOUNT VERNON — Tamela A. Loney, 48, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at her home following a brief illness.

She was born July 21, 1962, in Mount Vernon, daughter of the late Christopher I. and Doris V. (Wildman) Loney.

Tamela is survived by her daughters, Virginia “Nickie” (John Zolman) Loney and Amanda Jean (Adam Cooley) Canter of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Shayla and Kaylee; sister, Pamela Jean (David) Loney-Rush of Centerburg; brother, Henderson H. “Butch” Butcher of Mount Vernon; five nephews including Christopher E. (Brandy Blancher) Loney of Centerburg; four nieces; six great-nephews including Little Chris; and three great-nieces including Taylor.

In addition to her parents, Tamela was preceded in death by a son, Brian Canter Jr.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of Tamela’s funeral at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 16, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. Brother L.J. Harry will officiate. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the funeral home to help with Tamela’s funeral expenses.
