MANSFIELD — Richard Joseph Lacey, 77, died Monday, May 16, 2011, in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 23, 1933, the son of George and Golda (Perman) Lacey, Richard was raised in the Crestline area. He left school early to join the Army. Richard retired from Conrail.

Survived by his wife, Maria (Silva); sons, Joseph and Richard Lacey of Lexington; daughters, Zoraida McGrew, Michelle Snyder; nine grandchildren; brothers, George and Keith Lacey; sisters, Gloria Gall, Shirley Eckert, Linda Bosco; and numerous extended family.

Preceded in death by his grandchildren, Levi Lacey, Milan, Makayla Lacey; son-in-law, Steven Kopina; sisters, Beverly Guegold, Dixie Kimes.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where his funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Pastor Jeff Shaull will officiate; burial will follow.
