OWASSO, Okla. — Walter E. Sharp, 81, of Owasso, Okla., born Feb. 12, 1930, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away May 11, 2011, in Owasso, Okla.

A graduate of Fredericktown High School, he served in the Army; a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, until he retired.

He is survived by daughters, Diana (Michael) Gentry, Doris (Robert) Lee; grandchildren, Penny (Bryan) Sather, Amy Gentry, Andrew (Shelby) Gentry, Christi (Chad) Carr, Jeremy, Bob and Brian Lee; great-grandchildren, Emilee, Dylan, Gillie Carr, Matthew, Nicholas Sather.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol (Peters) Sharp; brothers, Stanley, Charles and Raymond; and sisters, Mabel Cline and Anne Strong.

He was buried with military honors on May 13, 2011, in Del City, Okla.
