REYNOLDSBURG — Harold Marvin Koelbl, 82, of Reynoldsburg, formerly of Mount Vernon, died May 16, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1928, in Brookfield, Ill., to the late Peter and Esther (Wagner) Koelbl. Harold worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Wichita Falls, Texas, and in Mount Vernon, retiring in 1982. He was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School, a former member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon and an avid horse racing fan. Harold served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Harold is survived by his son, Jack (Barbara Ann Richert) Koelbl of Reynoldsburg; two grandchildren, Peter (Pamela West) Koelbl of Hilliard and Andrea (Adam) Schaffer of Rogers, Ark.; a brother, Charles (Lucy) Koelbl of Fredericktown; and a sister, Dorothy Koelbl of Henderson, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. Koelbl, in 2010; a brother, Donald Koelbl; and two sisters, Audrey Baker and Ruth Dixon.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, at 11 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery with the Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating. The Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council will conduct military graveside honors. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Koelbl family.
