HOWARD — Lee Mitchell, 63, of Coshocton Road, Howard, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 19, 1948, in Madison, S.D., to Gerald and Lila (Bagley) Mitchell. Lee was employed as the administrator for the Country Court Nursing Home here in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, and the Fredericktown Seventh Day Adventist Church. Lee enjoyed sporting clays, golfing and especially fishing.

He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Gloria (Lembcke) Mitchell; his daughter, Kimberly (Aaron) Myers of Howard; two sons, Chad (Nona) Mitchell of Huntington, W.Va., and Chris Mitchell of Howard; three grandchildren, Rachel Mitchell, Noah Myers and Nicholas Myers; his mother, Lila Mitchell of Huron, S.D.; and his brother, Larry (Jean) Mitchell of Huron, S.D.

Lee was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Mitchell.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Hill Church, 535 Wooster Road, Mount Vernon, where a service will be held Wednesday, beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ron Vozar officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
