MANSFIELD — Nancy Twitchell Swihart, 84, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in MedCentral Mansfield following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 28, 1927, to Albert and Rhea (Mowrey) Twitchell. She was the choir director, music theory and voice instructor for many years at Madison Schools.
Survived by her husband of 15 years, Murray G. Swihart; stepson, Mark (Beverly) Swihart; stepdaughter, Marianne (Virgil) Witt; sister, Joanie Betz; sister-in-law, Barb Swihart; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Larry Twitchell; and a sister, Margaret Swank.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 11 a.m. in First Congregational Church with the Rev. Dr. David Hartzfeld officiating.
