MANSFIELD — Rodney E. “Sammy” Schulties, 42, of Mansfield died Monday, May 30, 2011, in Mansfield MedCentral Hospital.

Born Aug. 21, 1968, in Mansfield, the son of Richard E. and Beverly (Black) Schulties, he recently started is own business, Schulties Sanitation. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survived by his mother, Beverly (Robert) Young; his companion, Tara Thompson; sister, Vicki Keen; half brothers and sisters, Roger Schulties, Edward Hurrell, Marsha Gill, Diantha Snavely; paternal grandmother, Christina Schulties; special adopted grandparents, Paul and Maxine Haycook; and extended family.

Preceded in death by his father; brother, Richard Schulties; and half sister, Connie Hurrell.

Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. Layman Larry Monroe will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
