LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Thelma Pitts passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev.

She was born Thelma Marie Kelley on Aug. 13, 1946, in LaPort, Ind. She grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio, moving to Las Vegas in 1972. She was a retired Casino Cashier having worked at many strip casinos.

Thelma will be sadly missed by those who survive her: husband, Jon S. Pitts, daughter, Jennifer Frye, stepchildren, Alison and Jonathan Pitts, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Dan (Shirley) Kelley, two sisters, Ada (Russell) Carey and Kim Staiger, stepsister, Joan Conkle, stepbrother, Daniel Staiger Jr., all of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Velda Staiger and Thomas Kelley; and a brother, Raymond Kelley.

There will be a private celebration of Thelma’s life at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in Thelma’s memory to Opportunity Village, Attention Resource Development Dept., 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146; or online at OpportunityVillage.org.
