VICTORVILLE, Calif. — Richard Stewart, 71, of Victorville, Calif., died March 26, 2011, after a short illness.

He was born Dec. 12, 1939, at Fredericktown, Ohio, to John H. and M. Isabelle Stewart. He resided in the Butler area during his youth. He served in the Army National Guard from July 1957 through 1965. In 1967, he relocated to Norwalk, Calif. Following his retirement from Westerncraft Inc., he moved to Victorville. He attended the High Desert Church in Victorville. He was a member of the Masonic Order.

He is survived by a sister, Donna Dunn of Summerville, Ga.; brothers, Ronald of Heath, Ohio, and Roger of Fredericktown, Ohio; stepchildren, Danny Newby, Randy Spaulding, Tony Martinez, Cheryl Rosales and Cindy Spaulding of California; as well as grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as a brother, David Stewart.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m. in the North Liberty Cemetery.
