BUTLER — Bobby G. “Bob” Jeffers, 70, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011, in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born June 23, 1940, in Branchland, W.Va., and moved to the Richland County area in 1979, from Seville. Bob owned Midway Petroleum in Fredericktown for 24 years, and truly loved his work. In 1975, he married Lois Ann Benewiat, who survives in Butler.

An outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and generally being outdoors. He also loved antique cars and tractors, however the highlight of his life was doting on and spoiling his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Jeffers; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert A. Jeffers and Kim Richey of Bellville, Timothy Clark of Mansfield, Thomas and Amy Clark of Fredericktown, Ronald Jeffers and Jody Brown of Mansfield, and James Clark of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Olivia, Nathan, Chloé, Anna and Jessica; and his mother, Lillie Mae Jeffers Heaberlin of Huntington, W.Va.

Bob was preceded in death by his stepfather, Andy Heaberlin.

Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Davenport will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
