JERSEY — Margaret E. “Maggie” Taylor unexpectedly died at her home, June 8, 2011, at the age of 85.
She was born in Mount Vernon on Jan. 4, 1926, to the late Lloyd and Gladys (Updike) Montgomery. She grew up in Centerburg with many family members and friends, graduating from Centerburg High School in 1944. She married Robert M. Taylor on Jan. 19, 1946. With help from family and friends they built their home in Jersey where they farmed and gardened for more than 55 years. She enjoyed cooking, collecting and knitting. She worked for many years in quality control and retired from Borden’s Ice Cream.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Maggie will be missed by sister, Betty (Richard) Brown, nieces, Gloria Parsisson and Pam (Tom) Stewart, great-nephew, Mark (Jenny) Parsisson, and great-great-niece, Emma Parsisson, all of Centerburg; great-nephew, Craig (Kelly) Stewart; great-great-nephews, Mason and Mac; great-nephew, Todd Stewart; great-niece, Megan Stewart; nephew, Charlie (Pat) Taylor; and many other nieces and nephews, as well as many good neighbors and longtime friends, and her companion dog, Jay Jay.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 14, at 2:30 p.m. at the Pataskala Cemetery, 9545 Creek Road, Pataskala, with Paul Snoddy officiating, followed by a gathering of family and friends at Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, from 3 to 6 p.m.
