MANSFIELD — Esther M. Hopkins, 103, died June 9, 2011, in Wedgewood Estates Manor House.
She was born Oct. 26, 1907, in Richland County to Clayton J. and Ethel (Patterson) Hopkins, graduated from The Ohio State University with a teaching degree. She taught English and home economics for 37 years with the last 25 years in the Mansfield City Schools, retiring in 1971.
Surviving are 17 nieces and nephews, Stephen Hopkins, James Hopkins, Peg Billick, Willard Hopkins, John Hopkins, Angene Wilson, Fran Irwin, Walt Hopkins, Lew Hopkins, Giles Hopkins, Carl Jentes, Don Jentes, Roberta Jentes, Robert Jentes, Luther Jentes, Stanley Jentes and Earl Jentes; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Cindy Hessin.
Deceased are two brothers, Ernest Hopkins and Dean Hopkins; and a sister, Martha Jentes.
