MOUNT VERNON — The Rev. Glenn B. McMillan, 74, of Harcourt Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011, at Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.
He was born July 26, 1936, in Mount Vernon to the late Lewis and Leona (Weaver) McMillan. He was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and the Mount Vernon Nazarene College, where he received his degree in Ministries. The Rev. McMillan served as pastor of the Syracuse Church of the Nazarene and the Rose Hill Church of the Nazarene before moving back to Mount Vernon. He was a production supervisor for J.B. Foote Foundry in Fredericktown for 15 years. The Rev. McMillan was a current member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
He is survived by four daughters, Melissa Stecko of Howell, Mich., Judy Savage of Mount Vernon, Kathy (Steve) Roush of Marengo and Amy Vansky of Grove City; two stepsons, Alan (Cheri) Fry of Danville and Artie (Pam) Fry of Heath; stepdaughter, Marcy Fry Young of Hebron; two brothers, the Rev. Paul (Eileen) McMillan of Mount Gilead and Robert “Bob” (Vivian) McMillan of Mount Vernon; and two sisters, Iris (Preston) McCollum of Mount Vernon and Doris (Larry) Snively of Danville.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie McMillan; a sister, Virginia Claypool; and a stepson, Leland Fry.
Friends may call Thursday, June 16, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. A service will be held Friday beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 806 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Wesley Fredericks officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
