MANSFIELD — Laurel Glenn Jordan, 78, passed away June 16, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 26, 1933, to D. Vernon and Elizabeth (Jarrett) Jordan in West Virginia. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by General Motors for 35 years and worked as a farmer.

Surviving are wife, Helen M. (Allen) Jordan; two sons and two daughters, Dale Jordan, Roy Jordan, Laura Brown of Mount Gilead, and Beth Young; 11 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and five siblings, Betty Carol Dill, Jerry Jordan, Wanda Cutlip, Ruth Jackson and Ralph (Patricia) Jordan.

Friends may call Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m., at The Pines Christian Church, 6775 U.S. Highway 42, Mount Gilead, where the service will follow at 3 p.m. Evangelist Neil Gilliland will officiate. Burial will be at Shauck Cemetery in Johnsville with military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
