MOUNT VERNON — Norma June Staaf Bertiaux, 81, of Spruce Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon.
She was born Sept. 21, 1929, in Kane, Pa., to the late Michael and Esther (Elmquist) Kempf. She retired as a nurse from Reading Hospital in Reading, Pa.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Bertiaux of Mount Vernon; a son, James Staaf of Hanover, Pa.; two daughters, Kathleen Tucker of Blossvale, N.Y., and Susan Staaf of Burlington, N.J.; a stepson, Terry Bertiaux of Columbus; a stepdaughter, Gail Milligan of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bruce Kempf of Kane, Pa.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Staaf.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, 103 S. Fraley St., Kane, PA, 16735, where friends may visit two hours prior. Burial will follow in Mount Tabor Lutheran Cemetery.
