COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Naomi Rebecca (Prosser) Bell, 93, of Mount Vernon, passed away April 4, 2011, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was born Oct. 24, 1917, on the family farm near Wellington, Ohio, to Elmer G. Prosser and Rosella M. (Draper) Prosser. On Dec. 5, 1936, she married John Keith Bell. She attended from Mount Vernon Academy and the Mount Vernon Business School. She worked at Cooper-Bessemer and was the executive director of the Knox County American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Mount Vernon Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church.
She was instrumental in the formation of women’s organized golf in the Mount Vernon area. She enjoyed gardening, birding, traveling, knitting and was a Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by children, Ann Bell Speer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jerry S. Bell of Geauga County, Ohio; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and siblings, Esther Dales of Mount Vernon, Florence Hawthorn of Spokane, Wash., George H. Prosser of Bellville and Donald Prosser of Redding, Calif.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral service will be Sunday, June 26, at 11:30 a.m. at the Mount Vernon Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church, 535 Wooster Road. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, Coshocton Road.
