GALION — Robert Edward Ketter, 67, of Galion, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital.
Born Aug. 15, 1943, in Mount Vernon, he was the son of the late Harry and Kathryn (Miller) Ketter. He married Marilyn M. (Wolford) Ketter on June 14, 1964, and she survives.
Bob was a sheet metal worker at the former, Galion-Hercules, its predecessors, Peabody-Galion and later McClain Industries for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Bob belonged to Crestline Church of Christ where he was a deacon and a trustee. After his retirement, he and his wife, Marilyn, conducted a weekly Bible study at Alter Care Nursing Center in Bucyrus.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Katrinka and Mark Moreland of Bangs; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Janice Ketter of Chandler, Ariz., and Rodney and Shirley Ketter of Mount Vernon; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bill and Mae Wolford of Mocksville, N.C., Mary Wertz of Mount Gilead, Marguerite and Bob Britton of Galion, and Bob and Shirley McKee of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Reynolds and Paul Ketter.
Friends may call Thursday, June 23, from noon to 1 p.m. at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday, with Adam Witt, preacher, and Pastor Willard Delaney, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, south of Galion.
