CENTERBURG — Richard D. Severance Sr., 77, of Centerburg, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

He was born on Oct. 27, 1933 in Columbus to the late Theodore and Thresa (Black) Severance. Dick worked as a maintenance mechanic and machinist for Nestles’ in Sunbury, he also worked as a mechanic for friends.

Survived by his loving family, Rebecca (Bruce) Barkhurst, Leigh Anne (Paul) Manter of Howard, Rick (Theresa) Severance of Centerburg, Terri (Jamie) Shipley of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Suzanne), Duane Severance and Billy (Delores) Williams of Jackson.

Preceded in death by his wife, Dixie (Mann); and brothers, Thomas and Don.

Friends may call Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Pastors Dan Burris and Mike Bean will officiate. Interment in Trenton Cemetery.
