NEWARK — A funeral service for Clifford C. Ridgeway, 89, of Newark, will be Thursday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., with Alan Pratt officiating.

Clifford died July 4, 2011, at Selma Markowitz Center/LMH, Newark. He was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Cushing, Okla., to the late Hugh and Ella (Gorbett) Ridgeway. He attended Utica Church of Christ, former deacon of First Christian Church Tyler, Texas, World War II Army veteran, 66-year member Masonic Lodge and Farmers Lodge 153 F&AM Fredonia, 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner, member of the Toast Masters Club and he was an independent leasing agent for various Energy Resources for over 40 years.

He is survived by wife, M. Maxene (Drake) Ridgeway; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Sherry Ridgeway of Bullard, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Connie “C.J.” and Garland Fleming of Newark; sister, Irma Young of Loveland, Colo.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Clifford H. Ridgeway; grandson, Russell “Rusty” Ridgeway; and brother, Ray Ridgeway.

Friends may call Wednesday, July 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., where a Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, is assisting the family with arrangements. Visit to extend condolences to the family.
