UPPER ARLINGTON — Alberta Louise Lober Sproat, 93, of Upper Arlington, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born June 17, 1918, in Mount Vernon to late Lucien Augusta and Susan (Kehrer) Lober. She was a 1936 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and worked at the former Pitkins General Store. She was a member of the Broad Street Presbyterian Church in Columbus where she taught Primary Sunday School, as well as the Riverside Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ohio State University Group S Mother’s Club, The Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity Mother’s Club, The Boy Scout Troop 380 Mother’s Club. She loved cooking, sewing, painting and gardening. She was a hardworker and was loved by all who met her. She was an inspiration and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by a son, John W. Sproat Jr. of Buckeye Lake; a sister, Marguerite Frazier of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Sproat Sr.; four brothers, Adolph Lober, Henry Lober, Everett Lober and Clarence Lober; and two sisters, Estel Lober and Pansy Morris.
Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A graveside service will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown with Pastor Michael W. Smith officiating.
