MOUNT VERNON — James D. “Jimmy” Doane, 54, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly July 11, 2011, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 21, 1956, in Mount Vernon to James K. and Marjorie (Miars) Doane. Jimmy was a mechanical engineer graduating from The Ohio State University. He was a member of the Pre 1840 Camping Club and Hidden Holes Golf Course. Jimmy enjoyed history, bowling, hunting, fishing and his computers.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Doane of Dayton; mother, Marjorie Doane of Mount Vernon; brothers, Bill (Kim) Doane of Mount Vernon and Steve (Sherrie) Doane of Fredericktown; companion and friend, Debra Byers of Mount Vernon; close friends, Bob, Jimmy, Ben; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jimmy’s father, James K. Doane, preceded him in death.

There will be no calling hours. A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Doane family.
