HOWARD — Clifford E. Smith, 40, of Howard-Danville Road, Howard, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 8, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Feb. 14, 1971, in San Bernardino, Calif. Cliff worked as a technician for the Time Warner Cable Co. in Mount Vernon and worked part time with Hamburg Fireworks Display Inc. from Lancaster. He was an active volunteer with Food for the Hungry and Habitat for Humanity. Cliff previously served as a volunteer with the Howard Fire Department and was an avid fan of the University of Notre Dame.

He is survived by his loving wife, Krista (Garn) Smith, whom he married on Oct. 16, 1993; a daughter, Amber Smith of the home; his mother, Patricia (Smith) Wireman of Mount Vernon; father and mother-in-law, James and Mary Garn of Howard.

A memorial service for Cliff will be scheduled for a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Clifford E. Smith.
