FREDERICKTOWN — Barbara Jean Jenkins, 74, of Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Wooster to the late Paul and Mary (Schiappacasse) Hillier. Barb worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Joseph Poole in Fredericktown. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Tots to Teens Mother’s Club and the Knox County Medical Assistants. Barb was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Judi) Jenkins of Mansfield, Mindy (Stuart) Semerar of Mount Vernon and Mary Anne (Steve) West of Medina; and five grandchildren, Sara and Austin Semerar, Harrison, Benjamin and Lucy West.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jenkins.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a rosary service will follow at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
