MOUNT VERNON — Beulah I. Scott, 92, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.

Beulah was born March 15, 1919, in Gambier to Calvin P. and Della (McIntire) Smith, and had spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Beulah had been an employee of the former Northside Manor Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are her sons, Don (Hazel Durst) Scott of Fredericktown, Terry (Sheryl Landis) Scott and Gary Scott, both of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Donald Brian (Deerae) Scott, Beth (Steve) Denney, Stacy (Gregg) Oyster; six great-grandchildren, Derek (Bethany) Scott, Ashley Jones, Sarah Scott, Mayah Scott, Olivia Oyster and Gabrielle Oyster; a great-great-granddaughter, Liliana Juniper Scott; her brother, Harold Raymond Smith of Mount Vernon; and special friends, Kenneth and Doris Myers of Collins, Ohio.

Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Scott; son, William Scott; a great-great-grandson, Sebastion Rush Scott; sisters, Maudie Finkelman, Dorothy Corrigan and Norma Hughes; and brothers, Paul Smith, George Smith, Clarence Smith and Gerald Smith.

Friends may call Monday, July 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. with her grandson, Pastor Donald Brian Scott, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier.
