MANSFIELD — Phyllis Evelyn van Harlingen, 87, of Mansfield passed away July 14, 2011, in Hospice House of North Central Ohio.

She was born April 8, 1924, in Mansfield, the only child of Arthur A. and Eva (King) Stratman, and was a 1942 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. On Nov. 4, 1944, she married William J. van Harlingen, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1969. Phyllis retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield as the office manager.

Surviving are two sons, Ary (Gay) van Harlingen and Jon (Jill) van Harlingen; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call Sunday, 2-4 p.m., in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jim Streib will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
