MANSFIELD — Keith R. Goossens, 33, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 16, 2011, in Coshocton County following injuries sustained in an ATV accident.
He was born May 12, 1978, in Mount Vernon, the son of Kevin E. and Joyce (Ruhl) Goossens. Keith attended Fredericktown elementary and middle school, Mansfield Senior High School and graduated from Centerburg High School in 1996, with one year at the Knox County Career Center.
Keith currently moved back to Mansfield and was a student at North Central State College.
He loved the outdoors, riding ATVs, target shooting, hunting deer and fishing. Keith was also a Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan.
Keith is survived by his daughter, Skylar Goossens-King of Wisconsin; mother and stepfather, Joyce and Edward Matthis of Mansfield; father and stepmother, Kevin and Jessica Goossens of Centerburg; Keith’s fiancee, Mary Jo “Jodie” Perry, and her daughter, Libbie Perry, both of Mansfield; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Tonya Goossens of Perrysville; stepson, Tyler King of Wisconsin; stepsisters, Pam Kiser and Sue Matthis, both of Pennsylvania; stepbrother, Ed Matthis II of New Jersey; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Keith was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John “Jack” and Betty Goossens; and maternal grandparents, Vaughn and Velma Ruhl.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Keith Goossens will be held Friday, July 22, at 4 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where visitation will be held the hour prior from 3 to 4 p.m. Larry Andrzejewski will be officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
