BELLVILLE — Bernard A. “Ben” Wolf Jr., 90, died Friday, July 22, 2011, in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home.

Bernard was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Hamburg, Germany, the son of Bernard and Dora (Rehberg) Wolf. His service in the U.S. Army began in February of 1943 and he served during World War II. He was a member of Palmyra Church of Christ, American Legion Post 535 and Gents Auto Club.

Survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Thomas) Butenschon, Linda (Robert) Schrader, Lana (Ronald) Downing and Jeanie (Ron) Roberts; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandson; two sisters, Irma Schneider and Lulu Wolf.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Margaret Wolf; and his sister, Inga Leach.

Funeral service will be today at 1 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor Patrick Bailey will officiate. Burial with military honors performed by American Legion Post 535 will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
