COLUMBUS — Daniel James Scurci, 86, of Columbus, died Monday, July 25, 2011, in Westminster Thurber Health Center.
He was born June 1, 1925, in Jeannette, Pa., to Luigi and Concetta (DiDonato) Scurci. He served in the South Pacific during World War II as a technical sergeant, U.S. Army Intelligence. He retired from White Consolidated Industries.
Survived by his wife, Angela (Conte); daughters, Diane (Tom) Freiheit and Elaine (Bud) MacLellan; son Mark (Judy) Scurci; four grandchildren; sister, Elvira DeCaro; along with six nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Anita Caruso; and siblings Anthony Scurci, Jessie Decker and Frances Strizzi.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Mansfield. The Rev. Father Gregory Hite will officiate. Interment will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
