JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Shirley H. Wander, 88, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2011.

She was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and was a longtime resident of Venice, Fla. Shirley was a volunteer with the Venice Hospital for over 15 years and was a member of the Venice Yacht Club for over 30 years.

Shirley is survived by two sons, James, 59, (Laurie), Ronald, 50, (Jan); one stepson, Larry, 73, (Marge); one daughter-in-law, Florence; five grandsons, Jason, Keith, Adam, Benjamin and Matthew; four granddaughters, Kimberly, Jessica, Meagan and Ashley; one stepgrandson, Larry; one great-grandson, Caleb; and one great-granddaughter, Katherine.

Shirley will be dearly missed by her family in Canada, her sister, Joan; nieces, Anne and Nancy (Bob); and nephews, Murray (Elisha) and John (Sharron).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; son, Stephen; and stepson, Michael.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Mary Murtha will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Her final resting place will be next to her husband, Ronald, in the Workman Cemetery in Danville.
