LOUDONVILLE — Garnet Evelyn Brown, 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 1, 1920, in Coshocton to the late Warren and Zella Belle (Styers) Horton. On Feb. 19, 1946, she married Calvin Brown, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1993. She was a member of the Newark Road Church of Christ in Mount Vernon, and was retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She enjoyed her grandchildren very much and they were a big part of her life.
Garnet is survived by her son, Robert L. (Teresa) Brown of Danville; her grandchildren, Jereme (Renee) Brown of Mount Vernon and Danielle Brown of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, James Martin Horton and Charles Warren Horton; and sisters, Opal Irene Mizer and Thelma Pearl Skivers.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Andrew Jooste will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Visit http://www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
