MOUNT VERNON — Steven G. Sigler, 61, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2011, at his home surrounded by his caring family.

He was born Dec. 18, 1949, in Marion, a son of the late Lester and Ruth (Barker) Sigler. Steven was a Navy veteran and was a truck loader for the former Vic West Steel. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle with friends, and listening to country music and the oldies.

Steven is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sheryl (Bishop) Sigler; daughters, Cortney (Raymond) Dewitt and Amber (Joe) Miray of Mount Vernon, and Stephanie (Eric) Hunter of Sparta; a son, Chad Sigler of Dillon, Colo.; and grandchildren, Jacob, Catherine, Emily, Aryanna, Anthony, Hallie, Jace, Kainion and Kashinon.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
