HOWARD — Ronell Dallas Brady Sr., 75, of Howard, passed away Aug. 9, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 8, 1936, in Webster Springs, W.Va., to the late Parker and Pearl (Cool) Brady. Ronell was a Korean Army War veteran. He was a truck driver who enjoyed helping others he met along the road.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Caroline (Boyles) Brady; two sons, Ronell (Diana) Brady Jr. of Howard and Samuel (Delores) Brady of Texas; three daughters, Mary (Wayne) Sigler of Wooster, Cherril (Andy) Dice of Mount Vernon and Elizabeth Jean (John W. Smotherman) Brady of Colorado; three sisters, Gen (Sam) Tucker and Violet Toothman, both of West Virginia, and Carol (Bill) Martin of Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Ronell was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Brady; a sister, Navis Thomas; and a grandson, Dustine Brady.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Knox County Joint Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
