MANSFIELD — Clara Margaret Luff, 90, of Mansfield died Aug. 13, 2011, in Wedgewood Estates Manor House.
She was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Marengo, Ind., to Wallace and Lelia (Steele) Alderson. Clara was a 1938 graduate of Oakland City High School, and studied at Oakland City College. On Dec. 28, 1941, she married Basil B. Luff. The two resided in Sheffield, Ala., where Basil worked as a research chemist for Tennessee Valley Authority. Following Basil’s retirement, the two enjoyed traveling abroad to the British Isles, Germany and Austria.
Surviving are daughter, Janice Proctor of Mansfield; son, David Luff of Blountville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews. Clara was predeceased by her husband and parents.
A funeral service will be Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Entombment will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Beverly Hall will officiate.
