CELINA — Damon Springer, 16, of Celina, passed away Aug. 15, 2011, in Wayne Hospital, Greenville, due to an industrial accident.

Damon was born Oct. 24, 1994, in Knox County. He was a member of the Celina High School wrestling team and choir. He worked for his father at Springer Tree Service. He liked to skateboard, was a Hopewell Grange Junior Member and attended Journey Church in Howard.

He is survived by his father, James Springer of Celina; mother, Amy (Duane) Willey of Danville; brother, Andrew Springer of Celina; sister, Beth Shafer of Celina; grandparents, Don and Dorothy Springer of Celina, James Frye of Mount Vernon, and Mike and Bonnie Swingley of Howard; great-grandparents, William and Evelina Frye of Howard; aunts, Wendy Wears-Page (Mike) and Andrea Robinson (Bob), and cousins, Devin and Dylan Wears, and Dustyn and Dacia Robinson, all of Howard.

He was preceded in death by uncles, Glen Willey and Scott Springer; and cousins, Monica Springer and Destiny Springer.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Tabor Church of God with the Rev. James Keiser and Jason Springer officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens.
