MOUNT VERNON — Dortha M. Lotz, 89, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Fredericktown and Florida, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon.

Dortha was born Dec. 29, 1921, in Mansfield to Lloyd and Beulah (Britton) Hamilton and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. She was a member of the Palmyra Church of Christ. Dortha was a former member of Aglow and the Garden Club. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and she will be remembered for being a great baker and cook.

Surviving are her sons, Leo (Barbara) Lotz Jr. of Fredericktown, Leslie (Julie) Lotz of Susquehanna, Pa., and Dennis (Susie) Lotz of Fredericktown; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Lotz Sr.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. with Mr. Troy Northrop officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
