COLUMBUS — G. Luanne Gabriel, 83, of Columbus, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Manor Care in Westerville.
She was born April 14, 1928, in Delaware to the late Walter and Mary Gwendolyn (Thomas) Gabriel. She was a retired LPN working for Columbus State Institute for 20 years and Wesley Glen Retirement Center for 15 years.
Luanne was an avid reader. She spent many years as a caregiver and gave much of herself to help others, never complaining.
She is survived by her brothers, Tom (Lillian) Gabriel of Galena, John (Hannah Whitney) Gabriel of Carlisle, Ky., and Bruce Gabriel of Rio Grande; sister, Charlene Gabriel McCaulla of Galena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will not be observed and a private graveside service will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
