CHESTERVILLE — Eileen Dial Blamer, 89, of Chesterville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Morrow Manor in Chesterville.
She was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Danville to the late Channing and Anna (Lifer) Armstrong. Eileen retired from Kenyon College food services after 40 years of employment. She enjoyed the simple things in life and most important to her was the quality time she spent with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis (Harry) Griffith of Chesterville; three grandchildren, Christina (Chris) La Vine of Carol Stream, Ill., Jody Rogers of Chesterville and Robert (Carrie) Griffith of Maumee; six great-grandchildren, Ashley La Vine, Mark La Vine, Abigail Griffith, Paige Griffith, Jenna Rogers and Raegan Griffith; and a sister, Donna Porter of Zanesville.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dial; and two brothers, Paul Armstrong and Dawson Armstrong.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Lippert will be officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier.
