MANSFIELD — Robert Edwin Mabee, 87, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Primrose Retirement Center.

Born in Shelby on Nov. 23, 1923, to Vere T. and Lila (Wiley) Mabee. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17, and returned to Ohio Northern and earned a degree in jurisprudence. He practiced law in Mansfield for 53 years.

Survived by his wife, Charlotte (Purdy) Mabee; sons, Bruce (Julianna) Mabee and Robert Mabee; daughter, Pamela (Bernard) Car; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Mabee; and sister-in-law, Doris Mabee.

Friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 350 Marion Ave. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in First Congregational Church, 640 Millsboro Road, with the Rev.
