MOUNT VERNON — Clayton Frasher, 90, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born April 10, 1921, in Knox County, son of the late Robert and Mary (Styers) Frasher. Clayton was a 1939 graduate of the former Amity High School and was a farmer in Knox County his entire life. He served his country in the Army during World War II. Clayton was a member of the Danville Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting and the great outdoors.
Clayton is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Dorcas (Conrad) Frasher; a sister, Doris Jones of Mount Vernon; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Clayton was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Frasher; and sisters, Fern Kathary and Pauline Burch.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. with Ken Springer and Dennis Eggerton officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Danville.
