ST. MARYS, W.Va. — Laura J. Hendrickson, 81, passed away Sept. 15, 2011, after a hard fought battle with cancer at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born June 6, 1930, in Bakersfield, Mo., a daughter to the late Edna and Charles Taylor. She attended St. Marys Baptist Church and devoted her life to family, friends and grandchildren. She was a happy homemaker and loving wife to the late William Martin Hendrickson.

She was a loving mother of two sons, Edward Allen Hendrickson, and his wife, Deloris J., of Belmont, and Michael Hendrickson and his two stepchildren, Christina and Kyra; grandchildren, Brian K. Hendrickson and his wife, Sherry, and their son, William Harley, of Gallopolis, Heather Helmick and her husband, Michael, and their two children, Tyler and Brandi McCrobie; and nieces, Marsha and Sara Smithhisler, Rachael Johnson and Deborah Ackerman.

A memorial service will held at a later date for family and close friends. Due to the outpouring of love and support at the end of Laura’s journey, memorials may be made to Housecalls Hospice, 1226 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Special thanks to nurse Teresa Lowe.
