F. Wayne Pigman, 68, of Fredericktown, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2011, at Mansfield MedCentral Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 18, 1943, in Mount Vernon to Floyd and Ruth (Brose) Pigman, Wayne lived in the Knox County area his entire life. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1961. Following his graduation, he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.
Wayne was an employee of Pittsburgh Plate Glass and Kelsey-Hayes (TRW), from which he retired after 35 years in 2010. Wayne was a tool and die maker and loved woodworking projects in his spare time. He also enjoyed playing video games with his grandsons. Wayne had a great sense of humor and a captivating laugh that made others laugh as well.
Wayne was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta “Bobbi” Goff Pigman, whom he married on Feb. 14, 1992; two sons, Todd Pigman of Knox County and Jeff (Sue) Goff of Mansfield; two daughters, Kelly (Chris) Castle of Bellville and Theresa (James) Sims of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren, Leslie and Bryce Pigman of Fredericktown, Stephanie (Nick) Blanchard of Mount Vernon, Jeremy Goff of Fredericktown, Sarah Goff of Mansfield, and Logan, Kaybria and Deacon Sims, all of Mount Vernon. He is survived by his best friend, Jim (April) Hawkins of Mount Vernon.
There will be no calling hours. The family will receive friends one hour prior to a celebration of life service that is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m. at the Covenant Christian Church of God, 13360 New Delaware Road, Mount Vernon, with Pastor Allen Boliek officiating.
The Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown was honored to have been chosen to serve the family of F. Wayne Pigman.
