BLADENSBURG — Henry H. Barker, 64, of Bladensburg, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in the Palliative Care Unit at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1947, in Canton to the late Charles and Margaret (Jones) Barker. Henry was a member and deacon of the Bladensburg Church of Christ. He enjoyed farming, any type of mechanical work and fishing. His most recent accomplishment was building a wood splitter from scratch. He loved visiting with his friends and most importantly spending time with his family.
Henry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vivian (Myers) Woosley-Barker; two sons, Jamie (Cindy) Woosley of Richmond, Va., and Kevin (Marsha) Woosley of St. Louisville; daughters, Becky (Doug) Conard of Cleveland, Bridget (Dan) Cline of Gambier, Sarah (Howard) Spray of Mount Vernon, Korena (Dale) Broseus of Bladensburg, Annette (Rick) Hanna of Bladensburg and Bonnie Oliver of Martinsburg; sisters, Dorless (Ron Thompson) Barnhart of Nashport and Sandy (Clarence) Swick of Frazeysburg; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and his special Buddy Cat.
Friends may call Sunday, Sept. 25, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Bladensburg Church of Christ, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg is handling the funeral arrangements for the Barker family.
