FREDERICKTOWN — Homer L. Hutchison, 83, of Fredericktown, passed away peacefully Sept. 24, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a short illness.

He was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Amarillo, Texas, to the late James Robert and Merton M. Hutchison. Homer was a U.S. Navy and Army Reserve veteran and attended the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He had worked as a store manager for Victory Food Market and Wee’s Cardinal Market for over 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Hutchison of Fredericktown; a stepdaughter, Julie Fowler (Patty Herring) of Westerville; a stepson, Rick Hunter of Atlanta, Ga.; and a brother, Lester Hutchison of Kansas.

Homer was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with graveside military honors by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council.
